I can find them in the folder "user Library" in the left sidebar in Ableton, but whenever i try to launch one it says: "Could not access the Max device file 'name. I hope a little googling will solve this Gregfinger - Thanks for the link.
Yes, copying the files into my user library did the trick. Regarding the presets though, did you not already have the other devices? It was only the 14 or so new devices I was missing. The rest were ableton live max 7 free in my Ableton library, so I didn't have the same problem as you accessing the presets as the devices were already there - I only copied over the new ones, which didn't come with any presets ableton live max 7 free as far as I can tell. I also copied both folders - devices and presets - complete from M7; but not to 'user library', instead to a 'Live' folder within источник статьи documents.
All presets are working OK. It seems the presets just have to live in the same place as their device, thats all. Dec 12 am. Mar 19 am. I got both live 9 and max 7 downloaded, but i can't connect them. Mar 06 am. I am having an ableton live max 7 free with some user made devices where their presets will not load. I have tried all the suggestions above with no success. The device itself works, just not the presets that reside in the same folder and I get the error message "Could not access the Max device file "Name of device"".
